The Role

Reporting to the Royal Canin ANZ Managing Director, and considered a true pilot for the business,  you will be responsible for leading an overall team size of 13 people (with 5 direct reports) through the development and delivery of financial objectives, ensuring sound financial control and governance for Royal Canin ANZ .  This role sits on the of the RC ANZ Board. 

You will work closely with your peers on the Royal Canin ANZ leadership team to actively drive strategic choices and constructively challenge the organization on performance, execution and resource allocation. Additionally, you will play an active role as a member of the CFO community across the Asia Pacific region. You will also play an active role in the Asia Pacific region and be part of the Mars ANZ  Finance Council  (which includes our other segments).

Key Responsibilities

Based in our Melbourne office with a hybrid working arrangement, your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability goals.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, monitor financial performance, and provide accurate forecasts to guide business decisions.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Cash Flow and Working Capital Management: Manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and oversee treasury functions to ensure financial stability.
  • Cost Control and Efficiency: Analyze operational expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive financial efficiency across the business.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks and implement controls to mitigate them, including insurance and regulatory risks.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support Business Operations: Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to align financial objectives with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Blue Chip FMCG, Retail, or Pharmaceutical businesses in a senior finance role
  • Ability to create value and guide decisions and trade-offs across the combined Unit P&L.
  • Leadership skills to foster collaboration between the Business Unit, Mars Global Services – Finance, and Genpact.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for complex judgments across various activities, with an innovative approach.
  • Strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide, persuade, and influence others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance, MBA, Master of Finance, or similar advanced degrees.
